Terrapin Cellars Pinot noir

The New Steal on the Block

Terrapin Cellars Pinot noir 08

$15.75/$14.18 by the case

(mixed cases OK)

Red and black cherries, bramble, raspberry candy, soft baking spices, and a delicate lavender-thyme ribbon. Terrapin 08 Pinot has a surprising amount of structure for the value - thank you 2008! The new steal on the block. - Marcus & Adrienne

Rob Clark is vineyard manager for 30+ small vineyards in the Willamette Valley. He specializes in managing private vineyards from 2-10 acres in size, and he gets his choice of the best grapes. Clark describes his 2008 Pinot as "very concentrated, bigger and darker than any I've made before."

Illahe Vineyards Viognier

Snapped Up Fast

Illahe Vineyards
Viognier 09

$15.75/$14.18 by the case

(mixed cases OK)

Smooth, creamy and polished, with captivating aromas of honeysuckle and melon. There's just a hint of sweetness balanced by fresh acidity; perfect as a summer quaffer but also a great companion for Asian-inspired cuisine.

Illahe's Viognier has always been wildly popular. As the wine buyer at a local upscale restaurant, I could barely keep it in stock and had to work even harder to placate our regulars when the vintage sold out. Get some before the word gets out to the locals! - Adrienne

St. Innocent Vilages Cuvee Pinot noir 08

St. Innocent 2008

St. Innocent
Villages Cuvee Pinot noir 08
$25.95/$23.36 by the case

(mixed cases OK)

Nicely perfumed with dusky, Pinot-funky notes that quickly turn to savory red cherry, rose petal and toast scents. The palate has a great melding of high and low notes - bright red cherry, berry and citrus meshes with blackberry, toast, peppery spice and fine tannins. In fewer words: balanced and integrated. - Marcus & Adrienne

Arterberry Maresh
Maresh Vineyard Pinot noir 08

PRESALE PRICE $54.95/$49.46

Shipping after April 1.

Arterberry Maresh Pinots are seamless and silky - the 2008 is bursting with succulent, mouthwatering, layered cherries and wild strawberries, with orange oil, cedar spice, brown sugar, black tea and huckleberry appearing on the finish. Tremendous Pinot sweetness gushes towards the end, ideally balanced by the 2008 dream-vintage acidity. A veil of super-fine tannins helps the finish resound.

9 barrels were made (224 cases), aged for 16 months in primarily twice filled barrels. Harvested October 26-30, the incredibly low yields - less than 1 ton/acre - ripened to perfection during cold, sunny days. The oldest blocks of Maresh Vineyard - the fifth oldest in the Willamette Valley - are in this wine. Vine age ranges from 1970 to 1991.

Presale price ends April 1.

"In the 2008's, you've got the best vintage
Oregon has ever produced, the kind of vintage
Oregon winemakers always hoped they could produce."
Harvey Steiman, Wine Spectator.
