"The blend includes tempranillo, malbec and a splash of syrah. Cranberry fruit and lemony acidity, with some firm tannins." Paul Gregutt
Previous Vintage Tasting Notes
Rich dark berry and and bright red strawberry outlines this spicy red from Abacela. If you like Spanish Grenache, this wine is a delicious Oregon alternative.
Excellent, Wine Press Northwest
The Garnacha grape while native to Spain had traveled widely before being planted in Southern Oregon’s Umpqua Valley.
In this terroir, subtle perfume, anise, strawberry, raspberry and lavender scents are typical aromas as in this vintage. The supple texture is coupled with deep flavors of crushed purple fruits and naturally balanced acidity.
Unfiltered, this wine will improve for the next 3-5 years.
Pairings include cedar planked salmon with brown sugar and thyme butter. - the winery
