2007 Vintage Tasting Notes
Abacela Dolcetto 07 retains the attractive qualities of Italian Dolcettos: smooth, soft, and grapey delicious! Dolcetto is a great wine for a variety of foods, from appetizers to grilled meats.
Ripe red and black fruit dominate the fruit driven nose with hints of toasty oak in the background. With aeration the bright fruit morphs into floral perfume, deep, brooding, purple fruit with chocolaty undertones and dried mint.
On the palate this wine delights with a soft velvety texture and integrated acidity that creates a great sense of balance. Drink now or over the next 3-5 years.
Food pairings may include traditional Italian fare, or herb crusted rotisserie chicken with a cranberry demi glaze. - the winery

2005 Vintage Tasting Notes From the winery:
This Dolcetto comes exclusively from our estate's Fault Line Vineyards, specifically the Jasper and Northwest blocks. The Jasper fruit lends intense, ruggedly structured wines with dark plum and graphite aromatics. The Northwest fruit adds pure strawberry tones and supple, round tannins. The resulting wine has complex black fruit aromas, well balanced acidity, and a robust character with ample structure and concentration for near term cellaring. This is best enjoyed over the next 3-4 years with hearty fare like proscuitto-spinach-ricotta ziti bolognese.
