Adea Hawks View Pinot noir 06

Adea Hawks View Pinot noir 06 - This vineyard has two old favorite clones, Pommard and Wadensvil, that offer sweeter fruit with better balance. The wine has good concentration, plenty of sweet fruit, and a pure finish. Serves well with grilled red meats or pungent cheeses.

2003 VINTAGE REVIEWS

Wine Advocate 90 points: "My favorite of Adea's 2003s is their Pinot noir Hawk's View. Roses, sassafras, oak and black cherries make up its aromatics. Medium to full-bodied, it boasts gorgeous red fruit, black cherry, spice, and sweet oak flavors. Projected maturity: 2007-2012."

Floral nose of bright cherry and blueberry. Deep and dusky flavors emerge is this most Brugundian of Adea's Pinot Noirs. Lighter in body with flavors that don't flag. This is an equal mix of Pommard and Wadenswil. Pair this with Fettuccini and Wild Boar Sausage laced with fresh rosemary, wild boar sausage, arugula, smoked mozzarella, radicchio, prosciutto, garlic, white beans, roasted tomatoes and olive oil. -- M.S.
