Review:

Aromas include Italian spice, cherries and rose petal with notes of cocoa, cloves and dried lavender. This wine is round, smooth and complex. Floral notes and cherry fruit accentuate the long finish.

2008 Vintage

From the winery: Certified sustainably grown. Aged for 11 months in (30% new) French oak. 1,040 cases produced. With quality wine the target, yields were greatly reduced by aggressive fruit thinning and canopy management. Our goal in managing our vineyards to produce the best quality wines the vintage allows is evident in the wonderful 2008 wines. “Our 2008 Estate Pinot Noir is the result of a long cool growing season ending with ideal conditions to fully mature the grapes yet produce wines with wonderful complexity, elegance and depth. The wine is a blend of 4 Estate Grown Pinot Noir clones that offer lush ripe fruit and bright acidity.” "Dried black cherries with a mélange of mint, licorice, dried herb, tea leaf, and leather. This is a very full bodied wine with a silky texture, sensed more forward on the palate, that persists desirably and finishes with a lengthy crescendo of mint licorice overtones."

2007 Vintage Tasting Notes

Classic red raspberry and red cherry flavors match scents of red fruit and a hint of spice. Made from Alloro's estate vineyard, it is unfined and unfiltered. Very nice for the price & will sell out quickly.

The 2007 Pinot Noir is a blend of four estate grown pinot noir clones. Strawberry and cherry fruit with hints of smoke, spice and fine tannin. The subtle complexity and elegance of this wine are a perfect match for duck confit or grilled salmon. - the winery

The 2007 vintage was more challenging due to a cool fall with sun breaks and rainy periods that tested the nerves of the most experienced vintners. Experienced wine making paid off. Good vineyard management including pulling leaves to allow air and sunlight in the canopy, managing crop loads, and good picking decisions that allowed the fruit to reach full maturity, made for a very successful vintage.
