Aromas include Italian spice, cherries and rose petal with notes of cocoa, cloves and dried lavender. This wine is round, smooth and complex. Floral notes and cherry fruit accentuate the long finish. From the winery: Certified sustainably grown. Aged for 11 months in (30% new) French oak. 1,040 cases produced. With quality wine the target, yields were greatly reduced by aggressive fruit thinning and canopy management. Made from Alloro's estate vineyard, it is unfined and unfiltered. Very nice for the price & will sell out quickly. The 2007 Pinot Noir is a blend of four estate grown pinot noir clones. Strawberry and cherry fruit with hints of smoke, spice and fine tannin. The subtle complexity and elegance of this wine are a perfect match for duck confiet or grilled salmon. - the winery The 2007 vintage was more challenging due to a cool fall with sun breaks and rainy periods that tested the nerves of the most experienced vintners. Experienced wine making paid off. Good vineyard management including pulling leaves to allow air and sunlight in the canopy, managing crop loads, and good picking decisions that allowed the fruit to reach full maturity, made for a very successful vintage. 2005 Vintage Tasting Notes Delightfully intense toasted oak and meaty black fruit in the nose, with hints of spice, bacon fat, pepper, lilac, lavender, and white flowers. This is a sweet, juicy, huge black cherry, black raspberry, big toasty Pinot - a real crowd pleaser. There's nicely layered cherry fruit on the finish, and the toast and bacon fat notes return for a finah turn. 2004 Vintage Tasting Notes Exciting new Estate grown Pinot noir, this wine's initial presentation shows intriguing toast and smoke in the nose, with hints of spice and black fruit. The flavors start with an initial hit of sweet blackberry fruit, mouth coating, silky tannins, and gushing, rich ripe black cherry, cranberry, and black currant. The finish is long- fine tannins and a balanced acidity show maturity and experience in the winemaking. True to Pinot noir, but taking everythiing that is fresh and fruity about the grape and twining it around a core of spice and oak. This is a winery to watch! -jy Alloro, Italian for "laurel" is an artisan winery on the slopes of Laurel Ridge in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The small Estate vineyard is the source for the Pinot noir for this wine.
