Alloro Pinot noir Winery Block 07

Alloro Pinot noir Winery Block 07 is made from a particularly outstanding block of their estate vineyard. The grapes are 100% Dijon Clone 777. Red cherry, red plum, and blackberry flavors are joined by oak and sweet spice. Firm and structured, decant for several hours or cellar 2-3 years for best drinking.

The 2007 vintage was more challenging due to a cool fall with sun breaks and rainy periods that tested the nerves of the most experienced vintners. Experienced wine makeing paid off. Good vineyard management including pulling leaves to allow air and sunlight in the canopy, managing crop loads, and good picking decisions that allowed the fruit to reach full maturity made for a very successful vintage. Winery Block denotes our singe clone dijon 777 block directly behind the winery. This early ripening block never fails to deliver. Intense red fruit, edgy bright acid and fine tannins with and elegant finish. Production: 250 Cases.

Alloro, Italian for "laurel" is an artisan winery on the slopes of Laurel Ridge in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The small Estate vineyard is the source for the Pinot noir for this wine. Winemaker Don Kautzner shows experience and talent with this Reserve wine.
