Andrew Rich Coup d' Etat 06 shows off Andrew's love of, and skill with, Rhone varietal blends. An expansive aroma of black plum and black cherry complements sweet red and black cherry flavors, black raspberry, and black plum. There's that characteristic Rhone wine sense of olive brine and grilled herbs. The finish offers white pepper, cherry/plum and lots of minerals. Both complex and fun to drink, Andrew really shows his stuff with this beautifully crafted great value.

The Andrew Rich Coup d'Etat 05 has big brambleberry notes with toasted white pepper and a firm finish. It's a NW version of a classic Rhone blend. Andrew is a master at the grapes of the Rhone (remember he worked with CA Rhone Ranger Randal Graham of Bonny Doone Winery before moving to Oregon). A blend of Grenache, Mourvedre, and Syrah from famed Ciel du Cheval Vineyard. Rustic, big, classic "country french" with a WA twist. Andrew Rich moved to OR to make Rhone blends and the grapes he needs to do his magic are finally growing here. This is a big red with that rustic "country wine" flavor that you get at a bistro in Southern France- hearty, with distinct but pleasant chewy tannins and a sense of the earth, the sky, the fields, the farm.
