Andrew Will Annie Camarda Syrah 04
Andrew Will Annie Camarda Syrah 04 -
was $59.95!
Parker 90 points: "Chris Camarda's efforts with Syrah deserve serious attention. The Annie Camarda Syrah is blended of fruit from the Chamoux and Ciel du Cheval Vineyards, two of eastern Washington's finest.
The 2004 Syrah Annie Camarda is exceptionally fragrant, with aromas of bacon, blueberry, and violets jumping from the glass. On the palate, ample sweet fruit asserts itself leading to a long, pure finish. Although it can be enjoyed now, 2-3 years in the cellar should lead to greater aromatic complexity and a smoother texture."

Wine Spectator 93 points: "Rich, ripe and bright. An effusive mouthful of blackberry, red plum and dusky spice flavors, emphasizing the pretty fruit but not without hinting at white pepper and star anise as the finish picks up steam. A big wine, but this doesn't feel at all heavy. Drink now through 2014. 284 cases made." -HS
Avalon tasting notes: Wow Wow Wow! This wine floored us. Powerful but not overpowering, the 03 Syrah has light smoke, scorched earth, toffee, and anise notes on the nose. An initial wave of pure blackberry, and black cherry shifts to juicy plums on the middle and finish. There's a creamy element that enhances the staying power of the finish. A unamimous Avalon choice for one of the top Washington Syrahs.
