Anne Amie Pinot noir Blanc Prisme 2010
Prismé is the truest expression of the Pinot noir grape. We select only our finest blocks of Pinot noir and gently press the grapes, liberating the free run juice, but not the color or tannins from the skins. It is then barrel-fermented, and aged on its lees in French oak barrels for 18 months. This structured white wine has a backbone of acidity, a voluptuous mid-palate and a long, creamy finish. Prismé is named after the word prism- the splitting of white light into its corresponding colors. Here we are doing precisely that in reverse, making a rich, textured white wine from Pinot noir. - the winery
Grapes are gently pressed, liberating free run juice but no inclusion of the color or tannins from the skin. 100% Pinot Noir, Pommard clone, barrel fermented in French oak puncheons (25% new), lees stirred, full MLF, and aged on its lees for 18 months before bottling.
2007 Vintage Tasting Notes
Aromas of pear, lemon, smoke and wax. Flavors of yellow raspberries, green apples, brioche, and slightly toasted oak. Very smooth and creamy on the palate ending with a lengthy impression. Big in stature like a full-blown Chardonnay. A unique wine that forces you to abandon your ideas of traditional Pinot Noir and look for new expressions of the grape. - Pinotfile
2005 Vintage Tasting Notes
Delightfully intense toasted oak and meaty black fruit in the nose, with hints of spice, bacon fat, pepper, lilac, lavender, and white flowers. This is a sweet, juicy, huge black cherry, black raspberry, big toasty Pinot - a real crowd pleaser. There's nicely layered cherry fruit on the finish, and the toast and bacon fat notes return for a finah turn.
2004 Vintage Tasting Notes
Exciting new Estate grown Pinot noir, this wine's initial presentation shows intriguing toast and smoke in the nose, with hints of spice and black fruit. The flavors start with an initial hit of sweet blackberry fruit, mouth coating, silky tannins, and gushing, rich ripe black cherry, cranberry, and black currant. The finish is long- fine tannins and a balanced acidity show maturity and experience in the winemaking. True to Pinot noir, but taking everythiing that is fresh and fruity about the grape and twining it around a core of spice and oak. This is a winery to watch! -jy
Alloro, Italian for "laurel" is an artisan winery on the slopes of Laurel Ridge in Oregon's Willamette Valley. The small Estate vineyard is the source for the Pinot noir for this wine. Winemaker Don Kautzner shows experience and talent in this 2003 Pinot noir- recommended for drinking now, and for cellaring 3-5 years. Quite lovely. -jy
