From the winery: "perfumed and floral with bright raspberry and sweet oak overtones. Bright and focused ripe black cherry and tobacco flavors lead to a firm textured finish. Very nice now and will develop into an elegant wine with time."

"The Hawks View Vineyard is located on the east end of the Chehalem Ridge, northwest of the town of Sherwood and approximately 15 miles northwest of the winery. The vineyard is an organically farmed vineyard and sits on Laurel Series soils. The orientation of the vineyard is southeast with elevations of between 280 and 500 feet."
