Review:

The 2011 Winderlea Vineyard Pinot Noir presents plush, dense and sweet red and purple fruit. Aromatics speak of dark cherry, wild strawberry, cocoa, espresso and loam. The tension between stony weight and fine structure is balanced with bright acidity. The dark, earthen feeling of the Dundee Hills is layered with flavors of rhubarb, ripe cranberry, spicy, purple floral notes, walnut and cherry bark. - Jim

2010 Vintage

Still a small amount available 5-2013- call to order.

2010 Wine Advocate - 93 points - A savory meat fat-like character mysterious and mouthwateringly allies itself to the clean, refreshingly bright, vivid red berry fruit of Maresh's 2010 Pinot Noir Winderlea Vineyard, which originates in a steep section that borders both the Maresh family vineyard and Archery Summit's Arcus Estate. Hints of vanilla, almond, and pistachio extract offer further contrast without inducing the least sense of awkwardness let alone bifurcation. Here is pure-fruited, marrowy, and ethereally distilled sweetness. As Maresh points out, this exhibits the "high-toned, rhubarb, strawberry, and raspberry that I love from Dundee Hills." Seamless, silken, and seductively persistent, I had great difficulty resisting the urge to swallow while working, and found it downright impossible to keep from returning to the glass. I imagine that this will remain delectable for at least a decade. - David Schildknecht

Jim Maresh's first Pinot noir from the Winderlea Vineyard. Winderlea is next door to the Maresh Vineyard and, like Maresh, is considered one of the top vineyards making Oregon wine.
