Deliciously aromatic. Spiced strawberries and pie cherries, cedar, and a creaminess that flows through the wine from start to finish. The silky red fruits gain weight in the glass and pick up a dark currant bottom note and subtle dried thyme. Perfectly ripe, with sweet fruit finding its match in fresh acidity. This is such a pretty wine - the finish reminds us of a strawberry tart with a dollop of fresh cream. Make room in your cellar, as this is sure to be a hit of Oregon's amazing 2008 vintage.
Ayoub Pinots tend towards the contrarian for the vintage - the 06 was more elegant than most, the 07 was darker and more intense. Mo did it again with the 2008, where he made an exceptionally silky, feminine Pinot with very well integrated tannins and a more elegant first impression.
You can't imagine a better location for a vineyard than Mo Ayoub's in the Dundee Hills. His winery sits at the top of the hill, with the 4 acre vineyard sloping to the southeast.

A delicate floral thread weaves through the aromas of red and blue fruits, licorice, and toast. The initial cherry and blue berry transition to a palate full of juicy plum and brambly loganberry. With time, the whole wine becomes plusher and sweeter which nicely complements the iron-mineral note. A thin veil of oak spice harmonizes with the dark fruits on the finish. Decant if you're drinking now, otherwise cellar for two or more years.
50% Antica Terra, 35% Shea, 15% Cherry Grove Vineyards. Aged in 25% new oak.

Just in from rock star Washington wine producer Mark Ryan!
Did we say Mark Ryan and Willamette Valley? Indeed. Mark McNeilly loves Pinot noir, and for a third year sourced grapes from Lachini Vineyard to produce fifty cases of 2008 Pinot noir, named Black Love after the Cab/Syrah producer's forbidden love of Pinot.
"In the 2008's, you've got the best vintage
Oregon has ever produced, the kind of vintage
Oregon winemakers always hoped they could produce."
Harvey Steiman, Wine Spectator.
