From the winery:
The 2005 vintage provided us with the perfect growing conditions to make this outstanding bottle of wine - our very first Estate bottling of Merlot. Aged in 100% new French and American Oak for 19 months, it is dark red, saturated to the rim and has an exotic spice and Cedar nose with hints of Vanilla and dark fruits. This wine is massive in structure and the ripe tannins and acids are balanced beautifully by the purity of fruit and extraordinary richness. It should cellar for at least a decade if not more.
Prior Vintage Notes:
Trey Busch says: "This Columbia Valley Merlot has wonderfully complex and earth aromas of red cherries, plums, and herbs, and is framed in with spicy, chocolaty notes from the oak. This is a very elegant, restrained Merlot, and will pair well with fresh beef and lamb. This wine should age gracefully for the next eight to ten years."
