From the winery: The 2005 Walla Walla Valley Claret continues the tradition of providing a great everyday drinking, fruit-forward red wine with the exceptional quality expected from Basel Cellars. Our Estate vineyard, Pheasant Run, provided the majority of the fruit for this wine. Our blend of 68% Cabernet Sauvignon, 24% Merlot and 8% Cabernet Franc is medium ruby red in color, and has an amazing floral, herbal scent which leads to flavors of red Cherries, Cassis, Raspberries and some Tea Leaf. The tannins are well integrated and the acids are elevated enough to pair with rich foods.
