Bergevin Lane Syrah Oui Deux 06
We tasted the Bergevin Lane Syrah Oui Deux 06 today, October 2011. in 2008 Robert Parker's Wine Advocate said it would evolve for 4-6 years - and it's delectably ready now.
A black color, black currant, blueberry, espresso, smoke, comes across succulent and lots of complexity. Very Rhone meets Walla Walla. Two women with something to say. - Jean
Wine Advocate 91 Points
Wine Advocate: The 2006 Syrah Oui Deux is again predominantly sourced from the Stone Tree Vineyard and contains 5% Viognier co-fermented. It was aged for 14 months in one-third new French and Eastern European oak. A glass-coating opaque purple color, it delivers a complex perfume of smoke, game, espresso, licorice, blueberry, and blackberry. Full-bodied on the palate, it has layers of succulent fruit, plenty of peppery spice notes, excellent balance, and a fruit-filled finish. It will evolve for 4-6 years and have a drinking window extending from 2014 to 2021.
Bergevin Lane, located in Walla Walla, continues to make impressive wines at a range of price points. These three value wines are first-class. - Jay Miller
A highly aromatic wine with floral notes of lemon flower and hints of citrus. Elegant dark fruit on the palate with complex notes of smoke, vanilla and black cherries. Long finish with fruit and citrus notes on smooth and silky tannins.
