Gary Bergevin founded Canoe Ridge Vineyards in 1989. He was one of the early winery "pioneers" in the Walla Walla region. He later sold Canoe Ridge, and, four years ago, he founded Bergevin Lane as a family enterprise.
Gary Bergevin, his daughter and managing partner Annette Bergevin, and managing partner Amber Lane started work on their new winery and vineyards in 2001. Winemaker Steffan Jorgensen is originally from Denmark and has experience in winemaking from France, Chile, and Sonoma, Ca. All of the day to day winemaking operations and production is under Steffan’s supervision.
Washington native Gordy Hill is a consulting winemaker/vineyard expert for Bergevin Lane. He has over 20 years of winemaking experience for St. Michelle and North Star winery. Gary and Annette’s roots run deep in Walla Walla. In the mid- 1800’s the Bergevins settled in this area and decided to call Walla Walla “home.” Strong family ties, the opportunity for growth, and their passion for wine carried Annette and Amber to Walla Walla from Sonoma County in California. With Gary’s experience and strong ties in the local wine industry combined with Annette and Amber’s business and sales background, Bergevin Lane Vineyards was founded. It is an opportunity to pursue their dreams. |
