Review:

The wine opens with spice driven aromas of nutmeg and toasted pine nuts with a strong undercurrent of custard derived from extended lees contact. As the wine b reaths, aromas of lemon zest, cider apples, and oak spice begin to emerge. The palate is focused, and framed by a taut vein of acidity that carr ies the wine to a mineral laden finish. This wine has the structure to evolve beautifully in the bottle for several years to come. - the winery

2010 Vintage Tasting Notes

2010 Wine Spectator - 90 points - Fresh and lively, showing citrusy tamarind accents around a racy core of green pear fruit. Should benefit from a year or two in the cellar. Drink now through 2015. - H.S.

Aromas include lemon curd, Gala apple and hints of vanilla, flint and yeast. The wine opens with flavors of bright preserved lemon and salty mineral notes.

2009 Vintage Tasting Notes

Aromas of ripe pineapple, lemon zest, cinnamon, and Asian pears. Lush entry of ripe Anjou pears, mouthwatering acidity, lemon custard, and intense mineral focus. This wine is lush enough to enjoy now, but there is acidity to age, and this wine will will lay down gracefully for the next 5-7 years. - the winery

2007 Vintage Tasting Notes

The Bethel Heights 2007 Chardonnay is made from 100% estate vineyard fruit. Scents of pear, vanilla spice, and apple precede creamy pear, peach, and apple flavors. Hints of spice and smoky oak add depth. A fresh minerality finishes the wine. Highly recommended by Avalon.
