Review:
2010 Wine Advocate - 91 points - ...from Pommard Selection vines planted in 1979 – evinces sour cherry with fresh
ginger as well as orange and lemon zest. Infectiously juicy and bright; polished in texture but pointed; it delivers a vibrant finish,
its fruit capped with crushed stone and mouthwatering salinity. - David Schildknecht

2010 Vintage
2009 Wine Spectator - 93 points - Polished, with strong mineral note weaving through the rich blackberry and cherry fruit, melding smoothly as the finish extends. This has a distinctive profile, coming together with finesse. Drink now through 2019. 200 cases made. - H.S.
2009 Tanzer - 92 points - Vivid ruby. High-pitched aromas of black raspberry, Asian spices and rose, with a touch of blood orange emerging with air. Bright and nervy on entry, then deeper in the mid-palate, offering intense dark berry flavors lifted by zesty acidity. Finishes on a sweet floral pastille note, with impressive clarity and cut. - J.R.
Aromas of raspberries, orange zest, clove and black pepper. Underlying floral notes of rose and lavender. The palate features Ranier cherries, raspberries, and hints of white peach over balanced acidity and understated by balancing acidities. Expect this wine to age gracefully over the next 8-10 years at minimum. – Ben Casteel, winemaker notes
2008 Vintage Tasting Notes
A true heavy hitter from one of Oregon's original wineries. Flat Block 08 has power and concentration, depth and balance. There's a tongue-melting thread of black raspberry that weaves through light toast, black berries and cherries, and the melange of earth and spice that typifies the best Pinots from the Eola-Amity Hills. If I had made this Pinot, I'd be jumping up and down telling everyone about it! - Marcus
2007 Vintage Tasting Notes
2007 Wine Spectator - 92 points - Light and silky, a gorgeous, delicate style that lets its red berry and plum fruit dance sinuously over the polished, racy frame. Drink now through 2015. - H.S.
2005 Vintage Tasting Notes
I wrote two words at the end of my notes on this wine: "purity" and "finish." The Flat Block, which is 100% Pommard clone Pinot, features a lovely core of cherry and raspberry, with strawberry and dark cherry accents. The finish just sails...and sails. - Marcus
2005 Wine Spectator - 91 points - Supple and graceful. Shows real presence, with creamy cherry and huckleberry flavors, finishing on a creamy note. Lingers artfully against refreshing acidity. Best from 2008 through 2013. - H.S.
"Delicate aromatics: floral, strawberry, apricot, lots of stone fruit. Flavors of black cherry, blueberry, apricot skins, red fruits changing to stone fruit. Varietal, concentrated, good length and balance." - the winemaker

2002 Vintage Tasting Notes
2002 Wine Advocate - 91 points - Dark berries and hints of licorice can be found in the aromatic profile of the 2002 Pinot Noir Flat Block Reserve. This medium to dark ruby-colored wine is medium-bodied, reveals outstanding concentration, and sports a long, seamless finish. Its flavor profile, composed of a myriad of dark fruits (principally blackberries and dark cherries) is spiced with notes of freshly laid road tar. Projected maturity: 2006-2012.
