Bethel Heights Pinot noir Seven Springs 05

Winery: Bethel Heights

Loads of creamy red and black fruit-mostly black cherry, darker raspberry, with whispers of blue and black berry. At first the wine is focused on the front of your palate but then the flavors and finish begin to evolve. The Seven Springs needs a little more time, but it's delicious.--Marcus

"Aromatically, this is typical Seven Springs, a seamless intermingling of primary raspberry and blueberry against an earthy, brambly background with hints of spicy clove, currant, anise, oak spice, pomegranate, dusty red cherries. Lush entry on the palate, fresh raspberry flavors develop into stone fruit in the mid-palate. Well-integrated oak spice and firm, but balanced tannins, round out the wine." - the winemaker

Previous Vintage Notes

Wine Advocate (7/06) 91 points: "An outstanding offering, the wine displays plummy aromas of dark cherries, flowers, and spices. Medium to full-bodied and pure, this black cherry dominated beauty exhibits a satiny texture, lovely freshness, and a long, pure finish. Projected maturity: 2007-2014."

Tanzer 91 points: " Deep red color. Youthful, concentrated aromas of red and dark berries, with high pitched, sexy baking-spice notes. Broad and sweet, with flavors of blackberry, bitter cherry, licorice and cinnamon. As sweet and exotic as this is now, it also possesses impressive depth and power, and the structure for aging."
