Biggio Hamina Pinot noir Momtazi Vineyard 09

Offers a perfume of violets and red fruit. Red raspberries, red cherries, and sweet cinnamon intermingle in the glass. Sillky smooth tannins finish this sexy and supple Momtazi Pinot noir.

The Biggio Hamina Momtazi Pinot noir was fermented with 90% whole cluster fruit and was aged in 20% new French oak.

Todd Hamina was winemaker at Maysara Winery, home of Momtazi Vineyard, in 2005 and 2006. The 2007 Biggio Hamina Momtazi Pinot noir benefits from his precious experience. Working with Momtazi fruit, Todd found the wines from the vineyard to tend towards the tannic side. He used whole cluster fermentation and specific punchdown methods to soften the tannins and produce a silky and supple wine.
