Boedecker Cellars Pinot noir Momtazi Vineyard 06

Boedecker Cellars' 2006 Momtazi Pinot noir has big sweet black cherry fruit in the aroma and flavor. The black cherry scent is enhanced by hints of graham, pepper, and licorice. Black cherry flavors are accompanied by sweet spice. A medium-bodied wine, it expands in the glass and decanter with aeration.

Previous Vintage Tasting Notes

2005 Vintage

Fragrant, spicy, and floral with sweet lilacs wafting from the glass. Loads of cherry candy and spicy tannins linger enticingly on the finish.

The 2005 Momtazi comes from organically farmed and diodynamically grown Dijon Clone vines planted in volcanic soils high in the hills of the McMinnville AVA.

About the previous 2004 vintage, Northwest Palate says: "Big cherry aromas also carry caramel and cedar accents. In the mouth the wine has a bright cherry core, swaddled in cedar, graham, and rose petal accents. Light tannins add structure to the finish and will soften with 2-3 years in the cellar."
