No Washington Cab cellar is complete without the Boudreaux 05 Cab. A bold statement, but give it five years and it will be one of the best wines in your cellar. Deep, concentrated aromas of black fruit lead in to tightly wound cassis, blueberry, and blackberry pie flavors. A massive wine in structure - not a fruit forward big red. Plentiful tannins carry through the finish, picking up savory notes, and a tinge of cedar while the black fruit sweetens and lingers. Tasted over the course of four days, the Boudreaux Cab could be decanted for a couple hours and enjoyed with a big hunk of protein, but we recommend cellaring.
Previous vintage Parker 91+ points - the 2005 Boudreaux Cabernet Sauvignon is made with grapes from ten different vineyards. The wine is 81% Cab, with the rest of the wine's blend made up of approximately equal amounts of Merlot, Syrah, Petit Verdot, Malbec, Cabernet Franc, and Sangiovese.
Rob says he likes this vintage more than the 2004. It's huge and ready to enjoy.

ROBERT PARKER'S WINE ADVOCATE 91+ POINTS
Dense, complex, chocolate and violets and black cherries oh my! Rob is an old friend of the Figgins family and the Leonetti influence is evident in the wine. Smooth, lush, quite tightly structured and needing decanting if you drink it now, this classic WA Cab will age for 10-14 years. Unusually deft and sophisticated offering from a new winemaker.
From the winery:
The story: Smooth, luscious, complicated layers of violets, caramel, and chocolate-covered cherries. Call all your friends! A classic Washington cabernet. A fruit bomb from legendary vineyards. The finish of premium French, Hungarian, and Minnesota oak barrels with a bonus of an 1800 gallon French oak tank. (Think long clear sunset seen from the summit of Mount Rainier.) Fruit low-cropped for intensity. Balanced. This wine spent 24 months in barrel and three extra months in the oak blending tank. Bottled in heavy French glass. Corked with the highest grade Lafitte cork. About cork---it grows as bark on oak trees, a completely sustainable resource which creates very diverse yet quietly stable ecosystems. Every bottle is hand-dipped in wax---mostly by me. Bottles are labeled one at the time on our little labeler right next to the tasting bar. Come see us!
