Boudreaux Boudreaux Cellars Syrah 05Review: Wine Advocate: The red wines begin with purple-colored 2005 Syrah which was sourced from the highly regarded Pepper Bridge Vineyard in Walla Walla and the Wallula Vineyard in Horse Heaven Hills. Newsom gave the wine 30 months in barrel resulting in an expressive Syrah with an aromatic array of black pepper, smoked meat, game, lavender, and blueberry. Surprisingly elegant on the palate, this medium-bodied effort offers up flavors of dates and figs in addition to its meaty characteristics. The tannin is ripe and the wine impeccably balanced which will allow it to drink well for a decade. - Jay Miller
