2010 Vintage Tasting Notes
I poured this wine for over a dozen experienced wine tasters, all with the same reaction: wow. The aromas are both captivating and refreshing, with jasmine, flint, and lime zest awakening your senses. The flavors are multi-dimensional - it's the 4-D Chardonnay of the bunch. Fresh citrus, with flecks of sea shell, hazelnut cream and delicate herbs, finishing with tremendous cut. Wow wow wow! - Marcus
Light golden colored, appealing aromas of pear, white peach, and lemon blossom. Silky on the palate, white fruit, ocean breeze, hazelnut and a long, mineral infused finish. Impeccable balance and depth, drink over the next 2-5 years. The 2010 Cascadia is an exceptional, memorable Oregon Chard. - Jean
The fact that Oregon produces top notch Chardonnay is not widely known, especially given California’s dominant reputation with the varietal. In fact, the relatively small amount of Chardonnay we produce here holds the kind of promise that California has not offered for the varietal in decades.
Along with wineries like Cameron, Evening Land and Bergstrom, Doug Tunnell at Brick House is helping to redefine what is possible with Chardonnay on this side of the Atlantic.
The 2010 Cascadia is a prime example with it’s candied and spiced citrus perfume and superbly elegant textures. The toasted nut and creamy melon and pear flavors make a comparison to Premier Cru white Burgundy hard to ignore. This white is so well put together that I have a hard time imagining it not improving for at least 10-12 years. - Avalon Wine
2009 Vintage
2009 Wine Advocate - 91 points - The 2009 Chardonnay Cascadia is more mineral dominated along with excellent notes of baking spices, melon, and poached pear. It has a bit more depth and concentration than the regular bottling. - Jay Miller
2007 Vintage
Robert Parker's Wine Advocate 91 Points The 2007 Chardonnay, from a superb vintage for the Willamette Valley’s white wines because of the vibrant natural acidity, is light gold-colored with an enticing nose of honey, tropical fruits, and mineral. This is followed by a medium-bodied, creamy-textured wine with layered, rich fruit, impeccable balance, and a lengthy, pure finish. It is likely to evolve for 1-2 years and drink well through 2014. - Jay Miller
"A showstopper"- Portland Oregonian
2006 vintage Parker 90 points: "Lovely rich aromas of toasty pears are found in the nose of the 2002 Chardonnay. Oily-textured, broad, and medium-bodied, this seamless wine is packed with honeyed minerals as well as white fruits. One of the most elegant Chards I've tasted from Oregon, it should be drunk over the next 4-5 years."
Winemaker and proprietor Doug Tunnell was an early fan of the climate-adapted Dijon clone chardonnays, and this is a showstopper. Made entirely from organically grown grapes, this wonderfully bracing and flavorful chardonnay showcases forward crisp flavors of lemon peel, lime, a touch of tangerine and even a tad of mango.
Though the wine has a vibrantly tropical character, it also has an appealing weight in the mouth, making sipping it a rather sensuous experience. It is a wonderful example of the new trend in quality Oregon chardonnay." C.D.

"Toasted hazelnut and citrus zest aromas. Concentrated and lively on the attack with a moderately full body and a spicy, oak influenced finish. Still tight and youthful... 90-95 points"
