95 points Wine Spectator: "Focused, juicy, precise and expressive, this offers a gorgeously balanced mouthful of plum, currant, red berry and floral flavors that come together harmoniously and persist into the long finish. Has depth and distinction. Best from 2016 through 2022." - HS

#1 2012 Oregon Pinot, San Francisco Chronicle: "Doug Tunnellís biodynamically farmed wines are in terrific form, especially in this vintage. Evelynís is the equivalent of a reserve, and deservedly so (although the Dijonnais is also super) ó austere, and better after an hour open. Crumbled earth, white blossoms, maitake mushroom and dark-toned fruit."

You have to be in the right place at the right time to nab Evelyn's - it has become one of Oregon's most allocated Pinots.

A classic, structured Pinot for the cellar. The most limited Brick House Pinot. An intricate balancing act of more structure and elegance, with an ethereal aroma accented by dried flowers, orange essence, and allspice. Baskets full of summer red fruit unfold into layers of lusciousness. - Marcus

2010 Wine Spectator - 92 points - Light and tangy, with a crisp undercurrent to the polished raspberry, cinnamon and tomato leaf flavors, picking up a note of sweet leather as the finish lingers. Drink now through 2018. - H.S.

Brick House Evelyn's Pinot noir is an homage to winemaker and owner Doug Tunnell's mother Evelyn. It is a choice selection of grapes from the Brick House estate vineyard, a combination of Pommard and Dijon fruit.

2006 Vintage Tasting Notes

"One of the best wines Doug ever made" is how his Oregon distributor, Casa Bruno, describes the wine. We agree. The 2006 Evelyn's is a an elegant wine, with qualities reflecting what's going on in the vineyard, rather than what's done to the wine in the winery. Evelyn's is a wine with a sunny disposition- there's nothing brooding here, but elegant, fresh sweet fruit flavors prevail. As the wine opens, its clean, fresh quality shows even more, along with raspberries, cherries, subtle nutmeg spice, and the tiniest hint of an earthy quality. Tannins are totally integrated in this forward, fresh, elegant wine. Memorable.
