Review: There are some real characters in the Oregon wine industry (some of my co-workers included.) A favorite character of mine is Brigadoon winemaker Matt Shown. His no-holds barred joy towards life results in stories that are hilarious and impressive. Matt's wines continue to impress as well with their first ever bottling of non-estate fruit from the Eola-Amity Hills. Opening with a nose that reminds me why I fell for Willamette Valley Pinot Noir in the first place. Deep aromatics reward with sweet cherries and earth. High cherry tones resonate across the palate, followed by dried herbs and a touch of rose. Highly recommended. 75 cases produced. - Andy This is the first vintage of the Eola-Amity Pinot noir for Brigadoon. This up-and-coming winery has a knack for making very, very good Pinot. While many Pinots need a few years in the bottle before being enjoyed, this one is ready to drink now without sacrificing quality. |
