Review:

Burton Bittman 2010 captures the aromatic exquisiteness of the vintage. Thinking of a comment I've said a hundred times or more, they are wines I want to have a glass of, sitting on my desk, so I can smell it whenever I need inspiration. Crushed raspberries and thyme, an earthy creaminess and a touch of incense, sometimes the best scents are hard to pin words to. The palate carries the red berry theme and adds pie cherry alongside nuances of spices and resin. If you drink this now, open it the night before and give it plenty of air. A glass I had on day two was an incredible pair with confit duck leg and a quick raspberry-thyme reduction I made (heat up raspberries, add a little sugar, thyme, butter and salt). I believe the ideal cellaring window will be 4-10 years from now, depending on how much fruit you like in your aged Pinot. - Marcus

Anneka worked with a special small block of her family's estate vineyard, four rows from the original 1990 planting of Abbey clone Pinot noir. From these grapes, only two barrels (50 cases) were made.
