Buty Winery Chardonnay Conner Lee 2010
Heady orchard fruit on the front and great minerality that comes out of Washington's Conner Lee vineyard. Pleasantly creamy and rich without diving into Californication land. Pleases both Oregon and California Chard drinkers. - Andy
The nose is attractive and ripe, made of clean stone fruit flavors and vibrant citrus notes. The silky texture and the long, crisp, fruit-filled finish complete our wine, un-obscured by oak. It is young at release and will open and taste best over the next three years.
Previous Vintage Tasting Notes
Wow, this is definitely my favorite Chardonnay of the Walla Walla tasting. Bright with green apple both on the nose and on the palette and a soft scent of citrus fruit. A wine that would work well paired with cream based sauces, as the mouthfeel would match the roundness of the wine while the acidity would refresh the palate after such a rich, buttery experience. - Amy
From the winery: "Located on Radar Hill south of Othello, Washington, Conner Lee Vineyard is a cool site in a sunny region. Nearly a desert, the nights cool down substantially, the growing season is shorter, and the day heat ripens the clusters consistently. Planted 100% ungrafted vinifera in 1989, the vines reach into sandy soils, which provide excellent drainage."
