Nebbiolo Bric del Baio 08 $17.95 - I'll spare you the flowery descriptions - this Nebbiolo is balls out good. I've gone through a couple cases at home in as many months. It has perfect balance, not too much tannin or fruit, just amazing juice for the buck.
Chardonnay Luna 09 $14.95 - Unoaked Chardonnay from Italy's Piedmont - damn straight. One of the wines I look most forward to this time of year. Ripe and silky Barbera - this is as good as Barbera gets for the value. Ca del Baio Barbarera Paolina was named for the grandmother of the winemaker, Giulio Grasso. The Grasso family has made wine in Barbaresco since the 1880's.
Barbaresco Asili 06 $36.95 - Ca del Baio Barbaresco Asili 06 is sexy, loaded with plush and creamy fruit that takes some time to coax from the glass. Beginning with a nose of fragrant dried roses and sun-ripened raspberries, it transitions to delicious black cherries and raspberries, mingling with an elegant anise ribbon. Firm tannins help prolong the staggering finish. Best to decant for an hour for early drinking, this exceptional Barbaresco will enjoy a long life in your cellar.
The Asili 06 was awarded Three Glasses in Gambero Rosso 2010, and described as "wonderfully deep...exceptional grace." It was one of only 391 out of 18,000 wines with that distinction. It is also one of the most reasonably-priced Three Glass recipients.

Barbaresco Valgrande 06 $33.95 - Aromatic roses, cinnamon and licorice-accented cherry shows itself as fresh and bright on the nose. Quite approachable on the palate, with structured black cherry and berry. A traditionally-styled Ca del Baio's Barbaresco, the 06 Valgrande will age gracefully for well over a decade.
The Valgrande 06 was awarded Two Glasses in Gambero Rosso 2010.
