Absolutely stunning Chardonnay that will be gone if you blink.

The medium gold-colored 2009 Chardonnay Clos Electrique Blanc, a blend of 5 clones of Chardonnay, was fermented with native yeasts, was aged entirely in seasoned oak, and went through full malolactic fermentation. It finished at just 12.9% alcohol, unusual in today's world of full-bodied Chardonnays. Its fragrant perfume of mineral, melon, and white fruits leads to a medium-bodied, intense, concentrated wine with a smooth texture, savory flavors, excellent focus and a lengthy finish. It, too, will benefit from 1-2 years of cellaring and will drink well for another 6-7 years. - Jay Miller
Winemaker John Paul says: “You would think that in a warm vintage such as 2009, this wine which emanates from a warm site would have pretty high alcohol levels. But you would be wrong!
Deep roots, no irrigation, picking fruit according to ripeness and not sugar levels and the use of indigenous yeasts yielded a Clos Blanc of 13.1% alcohol. That together with the searing acidity of this wine give us yet again an age-worthy offering from Clos Electrique.
Production is, however, extremely limited at only 600 bottles so we expect this to be the first of our 2009 Fall release to disappear (hint: run don’t walk to your favorite retailer!).”
