Review:
John Paul's son Julian, for whom the wine is named, designed the label (he just graduated from Rhode Island School of Design.) If this is any example, we can expect some totally cool labels from Cameron in the next few years.
Giuliano is a traditional Friulian blend of grapes (friuliano, pinot grigio, pinot bianco, auxerrois and moscato) fermented in stainless steel and bottled 4 months after harvest to capture the high tone fruit aromatics in the bottle. This is a sensuous wine with floral qualities captured from the moscato, grapefruit rind from the friuliano and pear/apple from the Pinot bianco. It is thick and luscious in the mouth with enough acidity to allow moderate aging.
The Giuliano White blend was named for Julian Cameron, the next generation of Cameron winemakers. The blend is proprietary but usually includes Chardonnay, Auxerrois, Pinot grigio, and a bit of moscato all fermented in stainless steel. Floral notes mix with traces of flint and the mouth is full and rich. The Giuliano is a perfect match for so many food courses from oysters to cassoulet.
