Review:

This Sangiovese is made from fruit harvested in Washington State. It's a popular everyday red wine made by an Italian wine distributor based in Seattle.

This wine was born out of a demand for high quality and the need for a reasonable price.

In the first years of the 2000’s there was great interest in finding what variety would produce the best wine in Washington State. Sangiovese was heavily planted along with many other new and experimental verities. In 2006 and 2007 many vineyards came into production in the state and this was the first chance to look at this potential and the potential looked good for Sangiovese.

The grapes for this wine come from one of the Milbrandt brother’s vineyards in the Mattawa area. They produce a nice concentration of fruit and a freshness of acid to balance the flavors. They are harvested at the end of September, crushed, fermented in stainless steel to keep the fresh fruit flavors, and then pressed. They spend about 6 months in neutral barrels and 6 months in bottle before being released. - the winery
