From the winery: "This is a very inviting wine that shows dark purple with some ruby on the rim. The bright nose is intertwined with complex floral notes of gardenia, rose petal, and cherry blossoms are grounded with pie spice, pepper and blackberry elements. A medley of youthful, ripe flavors of plum, black cherry, liquid mineral, cassis and cedar lingers in a tremendously round mid-palette. Creamy and rich, the soft, warm finish captures the heat of the vintage and leaves you satisfied and ready for more."

From the winery: "The Cabernet from the 2000 vintage is a stylish blend of Cabernet Sauvignon, Cabernet Franc, and Merlot from the Alder Ridge vineyard. The addition of Merlot to the 2000 lends some sweet black cherry to the bright up front fruit of the Cabernet Franc, and both keep the attack interesting while we wait for the strong cassis and cedar box from the Cabernet Sauvignon to kick in. A dollop of Syrah adds a certain exotic floral dimension to the nose."
