Cloudline Pinot gris 08
Cloudline Pinot gris "is 'overseen' by Domaine Drouhin Oregon's wine maker, Veronique Boss-Drouhin" says the Statesman Journal's Robert Mayfield. He further describes the wine as "Peach, melon, lemon aromas lead to flavors of pretty much the same, with a touch of green apple. It's lean, slightly grassy, with a tart note of green spice, and excellent acidity. The perfect wine to relax with after mowing the lawn."
A rush of citrus fruits and white flowers, both in the nose and on the palate, combine to make this a wine of pure pleasure. With excellent texture and a strong lift from the acidity, it suggests food pairings with every sip. Try it with most shellfish, cheeses, ceviche, sushi, and spicy cuisine such as Thai and Indian.
Cloudline is a new winery from Oregon's Willamette Valley, owned by prominent wine importer Dreyfus Ashby. The first vintage of the wine was made for Cloudline at Domaine Drouhin by Veronique Drouhin-Boss in Oregon.
