Cloudline is a new winery from Oregon's Willamette Valley, owned by prominent wine importer Dreyfus Ashby. The first vintage of the wine was made for Cloudline at Domaine Drouhin by Veronique Drouhin-Boss in Oregon. Dreyfus Ashby imports and distributes Joseph Drouhin and Domaine Drouhin wines.From the winery: "The Cloudline Pinot Noir has a beautiful, dark ruby color. The nose develops well in the glass, and it possesses an intense aromatic bouquet, reminiscent of spices, blackcurrant and other red and black berries. On the palate, Cloudline offers a caressing texture and a long flavorful finish."

From the winery:Cloudline debuts with the 2002 vintage, universally acclaimed as an all-time great year in Oregon's famed Willamette Valley. A perfect growing season gave winemakers the opportunity to harvest grapes with optimal maturity and flavors, and it shows in the wine. Cloudline captures the vintage in a delicious and complex way through meticulous blending and additional bottle time rarely enjoyed by a wine at this price point.
Cloudline Cellars represents a first for us at Dreyfus, Ashby & Co.: our own wine. Given our love for Pinot Noir and our long history developing Domaine Drouhin Oregon and other wines, it's probably no surprise that we would choose Oregon's Willamette Valley as the home for this exciting project.
Our goal is very specific: to create the best, most delicious and consistent value in Oregon Pinot Noir today. We are fortunate to have access to top sources, growers and vintners who understand and support what we're trying to accomplish. We have also enlisted the expertise of V?ronique Drouhin-Boss, who has graciously agreed to be our consulting winemaker, or more appropriately, our "reference palate." In practical terms, she makes sure the quality never waivers.
We think you'll agree that Cloudline is a lot of wine for the money, the perfect case purchase for wine lovers who want something special on a regular basis. Or, for new enthusiasts, it's a great introduction to the best of what Oregon can offer.
