It worked.

MORE INFORMATION

Coeur de Terre Vineyard specializes in producing estate grown Pinot Noir from their vineyard located in the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range. Coeur de Terre is one of the hottest new wineries in Oregon. Scott and Lisa Neal moved from Colorado to the foothills outside McMinnville to pursue their vision of growing superb Pinot noir. It worked.

In a matter of just a few short years, they have developed a comprehensive, hands-on knowledge of viticulture and enology. They do almost everything themselves, though they do bring in a small crew to help with harvest. The vineyard site is made up of gracefully undulating hillsides of a very diverse soil profile of both sedimentary and volcanic origins.  The vineyard is nestled in a protective valley that allows just the right amount of heat for a slow and gentle ripening of the fruit while protecting the site from harsh coastal winds.  The vineyard site shows incredible promise, and has quickly produced grapes that made outstanding quality wines. The owners use only organic farming techniques in managing the vineyard.

Very few Oregon Pinots are selected two years straight for Avalon’s Reserve Pinot Noir Club—yet Coeur de Terre did it in their first two major commercial vintages, 04 and 05 (consisting of a mere couple-few hundred cases total production).

The Coeur de Terre Pinots have also been selected for the Portland Indie Wine Festival two years in a row. Yet their prices remain fair; the Neal’s commitment to value is highly commendable.

What's at the heart of Oregon Pinot? Gorgeous flavors, compelling stories, superb values and earth-friendly principles flow through the veins and arteries that lead to the heart of Oregon wines.

Enter Coeur de Terre--Heart of the Earth--a young winery with the heart to grow beautiful Oregon Pinot noir. It is one of our Wineries to Watch--their star is rising!
