Coeur de Terre Vineyard

Coeur de Terre Vineyard specializes in producing estate grown Pinot Noir from their vineyard located in the foothills of the Oregon Coast Range. They also sell grapes to Raptor RIdge Winery, whose 2003 Coeur de Terre Pinot noir received 93 points from Wine Spectator.

The vineyard site is made up of gracefully undulating hillsides of a very diverse soil profile of both sedimentary and volcanic origins. The vineyard is nestled in a protective valley that allows just the right amount of heat for a slow and gentle ripening of the fruit while protecting the site from harsh coastal winds. The vineyard site shows incredible promise, and has quickly produced grapes that made outstanding quality wines. The owners use only organic farming techniques in managing the vineyard.

Coeur de Terre's first release was the Renelle's Block Pinot noir 03. Renelle’s Block is the first block the Neals planted. The 2003 growing season was very warm and this over the top Pinot is true to the vintage. The 2003 Renelle’s Block shows flavors of deep currant, blackberry and spice with its trademark lingering finish.
