Review:

95+ points Wine Advocate: "Also brilliant, with fantastic concentration and richness, the 2009 Cabernet Sauvignon offers plenty of toast, chocolate and tobacco leaf intermixed with dark currant and plum-styled fruit. Full-bodied, structured and seamless, with building tannin and integrated acidity, give it a few years in the cellar and enjoy over the following 15-20 years."

Previous vintage notes: Stephen Tanzer on the 2007 Corliss Cabernet: "Finally, the 2007 Cabernet Sauvignon Columbia Valley from Corliss Estates, which I tasted in barrel, holds out the potential to become one of the greatest Cabernet-based wines yet produced in Washington State, although I should note that this wine is not slated for release until the fall of 2012. Ten years from now it will be fascinating to taste this superb wine next to the outstanding '07 flagship Cabernet from Quilceda Creek."

Corliss Cabernet Sauvignon review

It's easy to find agreement with Steve Tanzer's praise of the 07 Corliss Cab - it's absolutely fantastic. Dense, savory and sweet black fruits are velvety and expansive, adding red fruit and purple flower accents. Cassis carries the day, with shades of graphite and dark chocolate adding to the powerful finish. - Marcus

2008 vintage tasting notes: Wine Advocate 95 points: "More perfumed and lively aromatically, yet more firm and backwards on the palate, the 2008 Cabernet Sauvignon is a knockout 100% Cabernet Sauvignon that spent 30 months in 70% new French oak. Classically styled, with black currants, toasty oak, violets, licorice and background meatiness, it is a full-bodied, structured and age-worthy 2008 that will evolve gracefully for 15+ years. It improves over the evening but should ideally be given another handful of years in the cellar. Drink now-2028+."

Dark, brooding, intense Cabernet that I find utterly attractive. This is seriously structured and will reward cellaring for at least 3-4 years. A pure, cassis explosion of Cabernet that could be held up as a flagship for Washington Cab. - Marcus

2006 Vintage

2006 Wine Advocate - 95 points - The 2006 Cabernet Sauvignon (100%) spent 33 months in 80% new French oak. It is a layered, plush, mouth-filling Cabernet that already displays complexity. Give it 3-4 years to fully blossom and drink it through 2026.
