Cowhorn Grenache 74 Applegate Valley 08

This wine gets its name from the number of hours of frost our Grenache block suffered through in 2008. We must have chosen the right grape for that rocky site, because the vines shrugged off the cold and produced grapes with ripe rhubarb and blackberry flavors balanced with mouthwatering acidity. The wine pulled some amazing dark chocolate flavors out of the barrels. To keep that richness, the wine is unfiltered so don't be bothered if a touch of sediment finds its way into your glass. Of course it's still Grenache, so it will be a great wine with food all through the year. - the winery
