Review:
I'd describe this as the more "classic Dundee Hills" of the two Crowley Pinots, meaning it has more pungent red fruit and orange-essence aromas and an undeniably attractive nature. Give it a few minutes to breathe and unga-bunga it's tasty! I recommend aging for at least 2-4 years. Only 80 cases made. - Marcus
2009 Vintage Tasting Notes
The 2009 Pinot Noir La Colina Vineyard spent 19 months in neutral oak. Earthy minerals, underbrush, cedar, spice box, and assorted red fruits lead to an already complex wine that displays considerable elegance and impeccable balance. Enjoy this pleasure-bent effort through 2019+.
2007 Vintage Tasting Notes
La Colina was the very first vineyard holding we acquired to start Crowley Wines back in 2005. Therefore, in addition to providing us with amazing fruit each year it’s also a sentimental favorite!
An initial nose of sweet tea and anise gives way to supple raspberry and plum aromatics. Black cherry dominates the palate which shows off incredible sweetness blending with more serious dark notes. A slight dusty white pepper spice lingers in the background against the warmth and earthiness of coffee and tobacco. The finish displays the signature length and balance that makes this Wadenswil a standout wine. - the winery
