Cuvee Corvallis "Beavers Fans" Pinot noir 05

Cuvee Corvallis

Cuvee Corvallis Pinot noir for Beaver Believers features aromas of dark berries and truffled spices. Bright black berry, blueberry, and candied cherry flavors are complemented by a dried thyme note that wraps around the sweet fruit finish. The supple texture and pure fruit makes it tasty now; the juicy acidity will allow it to age for 4-6 years. 48 cases produced.

Cuvee Corvallis Pinot noir is made for Avalon Wine by Chris Heider's 720 Cellars. The blend was assembled by Avalon and Heider. It is named for Corvallis, Oregon, the city where Avalon Wine has been located for 20 years. Corvallis is the home of Oregon State University, thus the sidebar "Wine for Beavers Fans". The label features an image of the Corvallis courthouse.

Sourced exclusively from Croft Vineyards, on the skirts of the Eola Hills in the Willamette Valley. The Cuvee Corvallis was blended from one barrel of Dijon clone 115 and one barrel of Wadenswil clone. These vines, and all vines at Croft for that matter, have been farmed following organic practices since inception.
