2004 Vintage tasting Notes
Outstanding- scents of fresh red raspberry and red cherry dominate the nose of this rich, lovely wine. Flavors are intense, almost liqueur-like in richness. The first taste had intense notes of red cherry and raspberry and gave the sense that the wine was expaning in the mouth, with almost candied notes of fruit. Flavors continued with more red and blackberry fruit, white pepper, a hint of licorice, and warm, soft hints of oak. The intense, expansive fruit flavors are balanced by an uplifting, fresh acidity and silky, totally itegrated tannins. Doesn't sing a wrong note, this is a collector's wine. Very very limited. -jy
Made mostly from Seven Springs Vineyard Pommard clone fruit, this wine has depth and complexity, with great balance. Very small amt made. Old-vine fruit from Seven Springs and Murto vineyards are blended with fruit from Carabella and Momtazi vineyards to create the blend that is the best wine they produce. The wine maintains the focused fruit flavors, powerful structure and fleshy mouthfeel that have come to characterize this wine.
It should drink well on release with decanting, but will develop greater nuance and richness over the next seven to ten years.
