Dominio IV "Rain on Leaves" Pinot noir 07
2007 was a classic Oregon autumn of misty rains followed by breaks of sun and quiet trapped sounds in the vineyard. When rain comes at this time of year it opens and liberates aromas closed by the summer’s heat. The wild rose fills the air with its moistened petals gently falling to the forest floor. From a distance you can smell the dark and soft bark of the fir tree.
Previous Vintage Tasting Notes
Dominio IV "Rain on Leaves" Pinot noir 06 has rose hips, chamomile and light pretty flowers on the nose open to red currant, rose, and black bramble notes on the palate. Like a mid-summers rain shower. Really lovely.
Dominio IV limits itself to Tempranillo and Syrah from warm-climate vineyards in Oregon and Washington. The 500-case Dominio is the unique vision of Leigh Bartholomew, vineyard manager for Archery Summit, and her husband, Patrick Reuter, whose masters thesis at the University of California, Davis, was on terroir.
