It's a Great Time to Love Oregon Wine
Three Stupendous Cult Following
Under $20 Oregon Pinots
It's a great time to love Oregon wine. Today we have three stupendous under $20 Pinots with cult followings that are actually available in reasonable quantities.
Zoot Allures Pinot noir 07 $18.75 is the second label for J. Christopher Wines. Zoot Allures Pinot sells out as quickly as ANY Pinot released in Oregon (last year it lasted less than one month). This is a sought after great value Pinot noir, made in very small amounts each year. Lively and pretty, with depth and dark fruit flavors from the Dundee Hills fruit, while structure is provided by Croft Vineyard fruit. Yum!
Adea Pinot noir 07 $19.95
It's been a few years since we had regular access to Adea wines, and we're pleased to be the first to offer their 07 Willamette Valley Pinot. Juicy and elegant, with a nice core of cinnamon-dusted pie cherry and red berry. Very subtle truffle notes hang on through the bright finish.
Sweet Cheeks Pinot noir 07 $19.95
Sweet Cheeks Pinot noir 06 was singled out by Robert Parker's Wine Advocate in their 2008 review of Oregon wines as one of their picks for the best under $25 Pinots. Silly name, unknown outside the state, but there's lots of buzz about Sweet Cheeks' wines. Surprisingly silky for a youthful Pinot.
