Winery: Emerson Emerson Pinot noir Willamette Valley 2009Review: Red raspberry and red pie cherry dominate the scents and flavors of this juicy Pinot made from young vines of the winery's own vineyard. Located just north of Corvallis (Where Avalon is located), this is a well priced wine that shows the potential of the winemaker and vineyard. Light and refreshing for summer salads, grilled salmon, chicken. Dusty rose in color, silky and forward, with aromas of plum, black cherry, and subtle, mellow oak. Ripe strawberry and cherry flavors are overlaid by earthy nuances of truffle. Finishes with gentle tannins and a hint of spice. - the winery
