Avalon Wine

Evening Land Vineyards blazed onto the international wine scene like very few wineries. One reason: their consulting winemaker is Dominique Lafon, one of Burgundy's top producers and the proprietor of Domaine des Comtes Lafon. Some of Lafon's wines are worth thousands, per bottle.

-

Another reason: Evening Land has exclusive access to Seven Springs Vineyard, one of the most highly regarded sites in the Willamette Valley.

-

Dominique Lafon supervises Evening Land's winemaker, Isabelle Meunier. Carefully chosen by Lafon and owner Mark Tarlov, Isabelle's impecable skills are grounded in Burgundy. Time spent at Domaine Drouhin adds an Oregon twist.

Avalon Wine

Evening Land's wines are infused with a Burgundian sensibility. The wines are elegant, with purity and silkiness paramount. Whatever the grape, the wines are intricately layered - rich flavors shimmer with spice, flowers, minerals, and an undertone of the vineyard's terroir.

-

Avalon offers Evening Land's complete lineup, including hard to get magnums and limited bottlings.

Sophisticated and focused. Alluring aromas of black cherries and wild blackberries, fresh turned earth, and flowers open to silky berry, cherry, and dark currant flavors. This seamless, complex and gushing Pinot keeps showing more layers - spice, forest, bramble, perfume - in a prolonged, intricate finish. Crafted by master winemakers, with the structure to age magnificently. Our bottle was still fresh on day three. Try one now, then hold for a couple years and try again. We HIGHLY recommend this for your cellar. - Jean & Marcus

-

The Estate has this incredible purity of wild red & black fruits with an intense spice/floral component. White pepper, cardamon......the fruit is almost 'crunchy' on the palate with uplifting acidity and great length. - Ken Pahlow, Evening Land Vineyards

Supple, sensual, intense. Almost indescribable, it presents innumerable seductive variations of lemon flower, citrus, minerals and honeysuckle in the scent. A waltz of, fresh, honeyed citrus, pear, ripe fruit, and Meyer lemon flavors balance a creamy, opulent texture. A touch of minerals glides into a long, layered finish. I kept sensing the Burgundian influence. This wine takes Seven Springs Chardonnay to a new, glorious level. - Jean

A fascinating Pinot noir. Anise candy and rose petal sets off the rich, expansive mid palate of mixed berry fruit. Snappy acidity and a touch of grip are all in check - they'll help La Source age for a decade. Pepper-accented pie cherries and sweet earth leave a lasting impression. Seven Springs fruit rocks.
