Evesham Wood Chardonnay Le Puit Sec 07 - Russ describes the wine: "We were somewhat surprised by the depth and richness we attained in the cool 2007 vintage, something we attribute to a small crop which allowed optimal ripeness.This bottling is an even blend of Dijon clones 76 & 96 (with a smaller amount of clone 95). It is barrel fermented in French oak (20% new) with frequent lees-stirring, aged for 18 months, and bottled without filtration. As our vines have matured, this bottling has become increasingly consistent inits “terroir” flavors of subtle vanilla, minerals and grilled nuts. As is typical of our style, this wine has a creamy texture, yet a crisp acidity in an elegant medium-bodied frame. 105 cases produced."
