Review:
Singing with red fruit, this pure and elegant Pinot has quickly become an Avalon staple. Fresh cherry, cherry candy, cedar, a ribbon of black currant, and a nuance of peppercorn cream. I recommend holding this at least a couple years though it is undeniably attractive now - I couldn't help but finish the bottle with dinner last night.

The 2010 Temperance Pinot noir was aged in neutral oak. Winemaker Erin Nuccio said "the Temperance Vineyard is at a higher elevation and we picked the grapes 3 weeks to a month later than the rest. We even let it hang through the rains but the result was well worth it. It shows great complexity and reveals cedar, dill, and fresh sawn wood on the nose."
2009 Vintage Tasting Notes
Red raspberry, bramble, and a hint of white pepper in both scent and flavors, this is Erin's most elegant 2009 Pinot. At first, it is deceptively simple, then it opens and just keeps going. The complexity is in the subtle notes - minerals, herbs, earth, field grass. The most transparent of his Pinots, with ethereal layers of flavor. - Jean
Temperance Hill Vineyard has had a long history with Evesham Wood. From 1989 until 2001 Cuvée J was comprised at least in part of Temperance Hill. It's a special vineyard with a distinctive character. This bottling showcases classic Temperance Hill notes of cedar, dried herbs and spice. With a nod to the past we have used the original "Tudor rose" label for this bottling. - Erin
