Johan Vineyards Farmlands Pinot noir 2011

Review:

Johan's new Farmlands label is "a way for us to show off our biodynamic practices" says owner Dag Sundby. "It promotes what we do - a very natural way of making wine."

The Farmlands Pinot noir is made entirely from Johan's Estate Vineyard fruit. A scent of fresh, pure blackberry and raspberry fruit follows through with more berries, spice, and fresh turned earth in the flavor, finishing smoothly with a hint of vanilla. Good acidity and structure make the Farmstead Pinot a delicious wine to pair with salmon, pork loin, or a mild white fish like Halibut, served with a creamy savory sauce.

The wine is made by Johan winemaker Dan Rinke.
