Francis Tannahill Gewurztraminer "Dragonfly" 07

Huge aromatics of lychee, rose, acacia blossoms, perfume, lavender, and spice with a palate that mimics the nose and continues with a balance of viscosity, purity, weightless, and power. The hint of sweetness carries the wine into a long finish that lingers on and on. I've been waiting for this wine to be released since the last vintage sold out in a week. I'm taking it home for special meals this summer. It is just so delicious to sip, sitting in the garden on a hot afternoon, listening to the bees buzz and the wind move through the trees.

Vineyard - The Dragonfly vineyard is located above the Columbia Gorge in White Salmon, Washington at an elevation of 1600 feet. The vines, planted in 1962, represent the oldest Gew?rztraminer vineyard in the Pacific Northwest. Owned and immaculately tended organically by Don and Kristy Ginsler, the Dragonfly Vineyard is one of the most beautiful of all the vineyards with which Francis Tannahill works. Due to the age of the vineyard, elevation and long hang time the yields never reach more than 1.25 tons per acre. Dragonfly Vineyard is always among the last harvested with concentrated ripe fruit.
