"In choosing to refocus my energies on raising my children, I am placing an indefinite hiatus on winemaking and future vintages of Nicholas Cole & GraEagle wines. I will miss walking the vineyard, sampling grapes, the excitement of harvest, long exhausting days of crush and even the tedium of barrel management and bottling. Most of all, I will miss the great friends, loyal customers and the many fantastic people I have met and worked with in an industry I truly love. Thank you for all of your support."
Wine Spectator rating 90 points: "Dense, heady and impressive for its layers of black cherry, sweet spice and peppery sage flavors on a firm foundation of refined tannins, echoing as the finish persists. Merlot, Cabernet Sauvignon, and Cabernet Franc. Best from 2007 through 2013. 1,120 cases made." H.S.
A blend of Cab and Merlot from Pepperbridge Vineyard in Walla Walla, spicy black cherry and blackberry scents, accented by toasty oak, flollowed by flavors of big, jammy black cherry, marionberry, black currant, and toasted espresso bean. Real crowdpleaser at a reasonable price for what you get.
from factoidz.com: Nicholas Cole, GraEagle Red Wing 2006 : A blend of 38% Cabernet Sauvignon, 35% Cabernet Franc, 18% Merlot, 6% Syrah, and 3% Petite Verdot make up this wine. This is a Meritage from Washington State, and got very high marks from our testers! The over all review score was 95.7 just shy of the winner, we all loved the beautiful nose of the wine! Very tasty with hints of Fig, Cranberry, Dirt, Chocolate, and Nutmeg. This wine just rolled down your tongue with a velvet finish. It seemed just too young by a hair, I suggest it will be much better in 1-3 years a very nice investment wine.
